WeGO Fall Meeting 2015 – Show & Tell

The WeGO Fall 2015 meeting was held in Odell, Oregon at Judy’s Place Weaving Studio.  We had a great turn out and participation from all the guilds.  We accomplished a lot in planning for 2016 and beyond for education, events and encouraging others to pursue their passion in the fiber world.

Webfoot Weavers Guild – 2014 Challenge

Tartans & Plaids done by Webfoot Weavers Guild in Brookings.

This is a current display at the Chetco Community Library in Brookings.  It will be up throughout Feb.  This was our 2014 challenge.  We researched the history of tartans and tartan weaving and we also created original plaids using the tartan techniques.  All plaids and  tartans in the pictures are symmetrical EXCEPT  for the tartan on the doll.  It is an asymmetrical tartan, based on history of what ladies’ tartan dress might have been.  There are no pictures available for female tartans.  There is only a brief description and a lot of supposition if there was even ladies tartans??  The ‘bonnets’ were knitted from written descriptions.

Thank you Mary Wosner and Kay Flynn, for doing such a great job of displaying the exhibits and dressing the room for fair time.  A job VERY well done! – Central Oregon Spinners & Weavers Guild
